You know, I never understood why Scully was sooo afraid of that woman. I mean, realistically, there was nothing that Mulder saw in the other chick. She belonged to another life, to another person. But this man, Mulder, he belongs to Scully. And she belongs to him. Would also like to point out, since Scully wouldn't put herself on the line for anyone else but Mulder, they were cemented in the Fandom Hall of Fame.

But her being there did "advance" the story plot. If only for that perfect "Touchstone" speech. Because it was Perfect
